The Introductory Scuba Dive is an orientation to scuba that allows non-divers the experience of diving in the ocean, under the direct supervision of an instructor. Enjoy the Introductory Dive in the Avalon Dive Park one of few underwater parks in the world - and marvel at the complex marine environment found in the kelp forests.
Your 2½ hour tour includes: Your dive guide - a knowledgeable, experienced instructor and an expert on Catalina Island marine life; scuba equipment; and wet suit. Please note: Participants must be at least 10 years of age, as well as medically cleared.

Introduction to Cold Water Return to Top
If you’ve never gone diving in cold water before, you’ve been missing out on a whole new experience! Cold water supports an entirely different ecosystem than warm water, including unique marine life and the giant kelp forests you’ll find in Catalina’s Underwater Dive Park.
During the Intro to Cold Water class, you’ll learn all about the differences between cold water diving and warm water diving, from the thicker, warmer wetsuit to the nuances in buoyancy and maneuverability. The Introduction to Cold Water is a must-have addition to your dive package.

Refresher Dives Return to Top
Recapture the feeling of total confidence by updating the diving skills you learned in your Open Water Diver course. During the Refresher Dive, you will have the opportunity to practice and review your scuba skills, learn techniques that may have changed since you took your class, and refresh your memory and motor coordination - all with the guidance of a knowledgeable, experienced dive leader.
The Refresher Dive will also give you a chance to re-acquaint yourself with your existing equipment, or provide a perfect opportunity to learn about and adjust any new equipment under the steady guidance of your dive leader.
Refresher Dives are recommended after taking a year or more off from diving, or anytime you feel you need a refresher. Night Dives Return to Top
Experience and explore a whole new world with a Catalina Snorkel and Scuba Night Dive. At night, the Avalon Underwater Park takes on a new personality as many underwater creatures and plant life (different from those you see during the day) become active.
In preparation for your Night Dive, you'll learn about night dive planning, organization, procedures, techniques and potential problems. You'll also learn how to control your buoyancy, navigate and communicate at night. Since many of the plants and animals you'll see are different, you'll also get an introduction to nocturnal aquatic life.

Your ticket to the underwater world - the OPEN WATER DIVER certificate. Your Student Manual, DVD and water training sessions combined will help you learn everything you need to know to start your adventure the fun and correct way. The Student Manual includes study guide questions at the end of each section to help you retain your new knowledge and test your retention. During your Open Water Diver training sessions you will learn all of the necessary skills and safe diving procedures to be a comfortable confident diver.
Open Water Diver certification cards are recognized throughout the world. They entitle you to dive with other certified divers, enable you to purchase/rent equipment and obtain air fills anywhere you choose to dive.

Advanced Open Water Course Return to Top
The Advanced Open Water Diver course helps you increase your confidence and build your scuba skills so you can become more comfortable in the water. This is a great way to get more dives under your belt while continuing to learn under the supervision of your instructor. This course builds on what you’ve learned and develops new capabilities by introducing you to new activities and new ways to have fun scuba diving.
